7 Tips to help you during family problems

Family problems is not an easy ordeal. It can have serious financial, emotional and health effects on both sides. Here are seven tips to help you:

1) Be positive. It is easy to become weighed down the everything going on. It is essential that you are positive. If there are children involved then it is important for them to see you positive about the situation and the desired outcome.

2) Make notes. Lots can be happening and you need to stay focused. Writing down what has been agreed helps you to clear your head and avoid you dwelling on things.

3) Be non-judgemental. It is easy to point the finger of blame. But how useful is it? It may make you feel better for a short time, but it doesn't usually last. Rise above it and be proud.

4) Protect yourself. Your emotions and well being is the most important thing during family problems. Do everything you can to protect how you feel. Don't let anyone put you down or keep you down. Bounce back.

5) Focus on something you enjoy. Having a hobby, club or event that you regularly go to can be a distraction and enable you to gather your thoughts and enjoy yourself.

6) Avoid shouting. The temptation to 'let it all out' is always high in family problems. Shouting gets everyone heated and nothing gets resolved. Control your anger and keep composed.

7) Seek help. If it all gets too much or you feel you need someone to talk to, get help. There are many therapists that can provide help during family problems.
